NCHE AWARD NOMINATIONS OPEN | JAMES DAVENPORT MEMORIAL AWARD

Please consider submitting nominations for NCHE’s James Davenport Memorial Award. Nominations will be accepted through 11:59pm EST, Sunday, November 5, 2023. The application form may be found here.

James Davenport (1938 – 1989) was the first president of the National Council for Higher Education. A faculty member at the Washentaw Community College, Michigan, he worked tirelessly for over two decades for higher education faculty and programs within the NEA and internationally. His dedication to the higher education community and belief that all educators must work together as one family are memorialized in this award. The award will presented at the NEA Higher Education Conference in Atlanta, GA, March 14-17, 2024. The recipient will receive a plaque and an honorarium of $1,000.
